A
Comedy by RICHARD HARRIS
If
a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, what about a
woman's? Could it be 'Black & Deckers' and DIY?
This brilliantly constructed play revolves around lovable Bob,
a scriptwriter for the BBC and also a do-it-yourself enthusiast,
a compulsive handyman with a longing to be neede. Bob leaves
his wife Chris for the glamorous Diana, but finds he is always
drifting back to put up a few shelves or mow the lawn with the
result that he never really leaves at all.
Caught in the eternal triangle, poor misunderstood Bob vacillates
between the two women he loves, never quite having the courage
to make a choice. As the play progresses Bob becomes more and
more entangled, harried, and harassed. He wants everyone to
like him - including the audience, in whom he confides quite
often.
Yet another wonderfully funny play by Richard Harris, the outstanding
writer of STEPPING OUT and OUTSIDE EDGE, that deals with the
middle-age crisis in an affectionate and novel way.
By
arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.
