A thriller by SIMON WILLIAMS
The
Mill is delighted to be producing its fifth play from the pen
of the extremely talented actor, director and writer - Simon
Williams. Simon is probably best known as Captain James Bellamy
in the television series UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS. He has been just
as successful as a writer and has kept Mill audiences entertained
and thrilled for many years. And he doesn't disappoint with
this ingenious story that will keep you on the edge of your
seats until the last spine-chilling conclusion. In an isolated
house on the cliffs of north Cornwall the sibling rivalry between
identical twins Max and Ashley Hennessy is coming to a murderous
climax. As children they were always up to shenanigans - switching
identities to create mischief. They both know one of them must
die. But trapped in his wheelchair Ashley knows the odds are
now against him, he is in mortal danger - but does Detective
Inspector Fergus believe him? And can he trust the mysterious
Nurse Malahide who has been employed to protect him? Poor Lalla,
the twins' eccentric old aunt is torn between the two boys:
which of them is the victim and which the psychopath? As a force
ten Atlantic gale threatens to plunge the old house into darkness
news comes of a tragic accident on the cliffs and Lalla has
to face the possibility that even she is unable to tell which
of the twins is which. Perhaps they have done it once again
- pulled off the final 'switch.'
The
action of the play takes place in an isolated house on the north
coast of Cornwall on a stormy night in November.

He trained for the theatre in weekly rep and has gone on to
work with a wide variety of people: Celia Johnson, Peter Sellars,
Glenda Jackson, David Jason, Marianne Faithful, Eric Morecombe,
Joan Collins, Victoria Wood and Michael Crawford. Probably best
know for his role as the hapless James Bellamy in the award

produced at The Mill. He is a popular after dinner speaker,
a keen walker, a lousy tennis player and is hooked on Sudukos.

traffic calming, reality TV, bendy buses and bad manners. He
